Watch: PM Modi thinking on how AI can transform India, says Sundar Pichai

After a roundtable meeting with prominent global tech CEOs in New York, Google’s CEO Sundar Pichai shared that Prime Minister Narendra Modi emphasised the importance of artificial intelligence (AI). PM Modi urged the tech giants to expand their efforts in AI to ensure it benefits the people of India.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi took part in a roundtable with CEOs of leading American tech companies, highlighting India’s growth potential and discussing initiatives to strengthen bilateral collaborations across multiple sectors.

After the meeting, Pichai said, “It is Digital India vision. He (PM Modi) pushed us to continue making in India, designing in India. We are proud to now make our Pixel phones manufactured in India. He is really thinking about how AI can transform India in a way that benefits the people of India. He challenged us to think about applications in healthcare, education, agriculture and he is also thinking about the infrastructure of India – be it data centres, power, energy and investing to make sure that India can transition.”
